Maidenhead Farmers' Market

Maidenhead Farmers' Market celebrated its tenth anniversary on 13 September 2009.

Local celebrity chef and restaurant owner Antony Worrall Thompson visited the market to welcome everyone on this special occasion and to cut the birthday cake.  He is seen here with the organisers and some of the stallholders who attended the very first markets ten years ago.  To watch a video of the event please click here.

The market takes place every second Sunday of the month in the Grove Road car park behind the town hall from 10am until 1pm. Free parking is available in the Town Hall car park opposite.

Children have fun too!

Children from Lowbrook Primary school participated at the July market - they'd helped to bake biscuits,  make jam and pick fruit from cherry trees planted in the school grounds.

Children in charge!

Around 25 stallholders attend the market each month with a wide offering of quality local produce:  beef, pork, lamb, game, pies, baked goods, cheeses, poultry, free range eggs, fresh trout, home made cakes, fruit and vegetables in season, apple juice and cider, preserves and plants plus organic vegetables and speciality breads.  Most come from within 30 miles of the market but we also have some from further afield,  such as the freshest sea fish and shellfish direct from small boats working out of Selsey.

Take a break and enjoy hot refreshments at the al fresco seating!

SAVE MONEY TOO!

Visit the tea stall at the market to sign up to our Customer Loyalty Scheme. You can qualify for a £5 voucher to spend at the market after six visits!

We also participate in the Royal Borough's new Recyclebank scheme whereby residents can cash in their points for a £5 voucher to spend at the market.

March 2009 saw the launch of the market's own branded "eco-shoppers" made possible by a grant from the Heathrow Community & Environment Awards.  Customers received free bags and carriers to help cut down on the numbers of plastic bags used.  Insulated shoppers, ideal for keeping purchases cool until you get home, are still available from the tea stall.
